2024

The second chapter of my folklore thesis, “The Peepstone Woman in Logan,” won the Utah Historical Society’s Helen Papanikolas Award. The Helen Papanikolas Award is awarded to the best student paper on “Women’s History in Utah.”

“Millie’s paper recovers the story of Elvine Petersen, tracing how she came to be known as the peepstone woman and highlighting what her story shows about cultural memory.”

2023

The third chapter of my folklore thesis, “Comfort, Counsel, Money, and Livestock: Mormon Women’s Divination Communities,” won the Don Yoder Prize from the Folk Belief and Religious Folklife Section of the American Folklore Society.
